This Torah class is brought to you by TorahAnytime.com. Before we start the siyum, I first want to, b'rshus, Moradasro, Rav Yigal Chaimov shlita. We're all here tonight because of Rav Yigal Chaimov shlita. Years ago, he had the vision and planted Torah in your community b'mesiras nefesh, talmid by talmid, day by day. I'm not here to be marich; there was plenty of speeches, but the oilam should know, you and I, we owe Rav Yigal Chaimov a lot, a lot, a lot, a lot, a lot, and it continues. HaKadosh Baruch Hu should give you, Rav Chaimov shlita, Moradasro, together with your choshev son-in-law and all your son-in-laws and all your children, the zechus and the koach to continue, b'harbatzas haTorah, queens and further, queens and further, with gezunt, with health, with hatzlacha, bracha, l'orech yamim v'shanim. Thank you, Rav Chaimov. Thank you. Rishus hagdolah, Agudas Yisroel, thank you. Rabbi Becker, thank you for coming. Klal Yisroel owes so much, so much. You know, you're reading the papers and you see it's only a little bit, a mashu shebemashu shebemashu, what's behind the scenes. It's what it means to do for Klal Yisroel, to be selfless and devoted for Klal Yisroel. Ashreichem, ashreichem, Agudas Yisroel, and we thank you, and we bimakir tov forever and ever. From the depths of our heart, we appreciate, and we tell you, chazak, be strong. Correct, Yaniv? Chazak, that's what we tell them. We tell them, chazak. And im yirtzeh Hashem, yishbimamshich in yabatzos Torah. I also want to be, as they say, acknowledge Rav Ilan Shlita, for all that you do, mesiras nefesh, all that you do for the community, Talmud chacham who gives his life day in and day out. HaKadosh Baruch Hu should give you the strength and the koach and the will withal. It's not easy. It's not easy to build Torah, to plant Torah in a community. HaKadosh Baruch Hu should give you koach, and you should be able to be mamshich in avodas hakodesh together with your sidekick, Rav Yaniv. Everybody, Rav Yaniv, thank Rav Yaniv, the power of the community, Rav Yaniv shlita. Thank you, Rav Yaniv. And just all the other rabbanim, I take one minute to talk to you about Daf Yomi. Rabosai, the easy part is behind us. Now starts the difficult part, okay? Let's talk it lemaaseh. You know me, I don't mince words. I say it as it is, and I say it straight. Rabosai, brachos was geshmak. Brachos was beautiful. It was interesting. Rabosai, Shabbos is not going to be that easy. One word of advice, one word of chizuk. Let me tell you over a Gemara, and then I'll tell you the message that I want, and then we'll get straight to the siyum. When every Yid comes lasid lavo to the Kisei HaKavod lachar meah v'esrim, he's asked a few questions. The first question is, nasata v'nasata b'emunah, how honest you are in business. And then he's asked, kavata itim laTorah. What is kavata itim laTorah? And why were these chosen, these questions? It's a piece of the Yeshua. There's a few questions. There are so many mitzvahs, taryag mitzvahs. Why did HaKadosh Baruch Hu choose the test, the questions that are asked, not just the following questions in the Gemara? And what does it mean, kavata itim laTorah? Does it...
Did you learn? That's not the question. The question is, Kavata itim laTorah. Kavata itim laTorah. Kovea. People learn. People love to learn when it's enjoyable. People love to learn when they have something, nothing else, that moment to do. You know what the hard part is? Kovea, kovea, kovea, kovea. Consistency. That's the test. That's the test of how much ahavas haTorah, how much do you want to learn. Kavata, not limadta. When you're consistent, when at the end of the day it's hard, as Rashi points out, there's work throughout the day, and yet you put away time, and it's kavua. It's day after day, night after night. That takes mesiras nefesh. That proves ahavas haTorah. To learn when it's gishmak, to learn when it's comfortable. We even love Torah. We all love Torah. Rabbeinu Shalom wants, and this is the hatzlacha by kovea, when it's rough and it's hard. And I want to end with this thought. There was a time and a place where it was difficult to learn, period. A Yid wanted to learn, he had to go to the rav and— and learned by him, and everybody wanted a bissel a shayches, some learning. Today, they push in front of you any ability to learn. There is nothing that a person can't learn at any given moment, any second, in every form, in every media of Torah. So where's the nisayon? Where does the yetzer hara get you? And the answer is, kavata. The consistency. When it's hard, when it's difficult. I stand here tonight, and I ask everyone who is participating: commitment, commitment, focus, acceptance. We're going to do this. The same way we finish brachos, b'ezer Hashem yisbarach, we will finish Shabbos, and we'll go from Shabbos to Eruvin. Like a soldier, we won't miss. We'll be kovea. We'll be consistent. But it takes mesiras nefesh. It takes commitment. Okay, see, right off, they're throwing you Talmudic. Anyone who wants could learn. The problem isn't the wanting, alavillen. The problem is the chasidim nights and the shibudim and the... Rabosai, remember. Commitment. Commitment. You want to do it, and you do it. Don't think. Just do it. Learn. Say, next siyum hashas, I will be a mesayem Shas. But it takes commitment. And we're here tonight to ask of you, and to give you the understanding that this is the key. The hatzlacha is the commitment, the kvius. Don't fall. Don't fall. Some blatt are going to be hard. The beginning of Shabbos could get very hard, and then right after the first ten blatt it gets even harder. Why is everyone laughing? It's ein shkin gelachter, rabosai, especially those that have to say the shiur. Vaiter a gelachter, rabosai. Do it. Do it. Do it. Do it. Be strong. We're all soldiers. Yidden have it in their techunah to be strong, to fight for Torah. And im yirtzeh Hashem, we'll be zocheh to bring kavod to Ribono Shel Olam. Tatte, we're ready to do. Tatte, we're ready to do. And with the zechus, רבשע, have rachmanus on so many cholei amcha.
Ribono Shel Olam, we do, we try. We give blood and sweat for Torah. Take away the blood and sweat of chaylei amcha Yisrael. Thank you, thank you, and thank you. And im yirtzeh Hashem, I'll see you in a few hundred blatt. No, actually, I'll see you every night, I hope, but I see you here at this podium in a few hundred blatt. Okay, let us be mesayem again. B'rov shevach v'hoda'ah to the Ribono Shel Olam, that we thank you for the tremendous zechus. Amar Reb Eliezer, amar Reb Chanina: talmidei chachamim marbim shalom ba'olam. Shalom, peace in the world, it's all talmidei chachamim. They, the ones who are marbeh, who bring about all this peace. Shenemar: V'chol banayich limudei Hashem, v'rav shalom banayich.
