This Torah class is brought to you by TorahAnytime.com. Last week, we began Shabbos to discuss V'osis Shabbos, and we brought out that in the parshas Ki Sisa, Ach es Shabsosai tishmoru, it seems to say that Shabbos is an os. That Shabbos is an os for two things. It's an os, Beini uveinichem, ki ani Hashem mekadishchem. And it's also an os, Ki sheshes yamim asah Hashem es hashamayim v'es haaretz. And we discussed the lashon, Ach es Shabsosai tishmoru, the double lashon, two Shabbos, Shabsosai. It should have said, V'shamru Bnei Yisrael es haShabbos, is one Shabbos. Ach es Shabsosai tishmoru, two Shabbosim, plural. So we said there's a lot of Chazal about Klal Yisrael, if they keep two Shabbosim, the geulah will come. Yishmeru shtei Shabbasos, maybe it's merumaz in Ach es Shabsosai. Tishmoru, two Shabbosen. But we said the pshat from the Brisker Rav, and during the week I saw a beautiful pshat from Rabbi Elyashiv. Rabbi Elyashiv zatzal says, Ach es Shabsoi tishmoru, the double Shabbos, because a Yid darf halten zwei Shabbos, zaine un yedems. He needs to make sure that not only he keeps Shabbos. Beautiful vort. Not only zich — it's an expression, mach Shabbos far zich. Tunst machen Shabbos nor far zich. Machen zich a zai Shabbos for you and for others as well. That's the double loshon, says Rabbi Elyashiv. He says, that's Veshamru Bnei Yisrael es haShabbos, la'asos es haShabbos. What is la'asos es haShabbos? Vos darf men ton? Men darf ton az yene oich zol hobn Shabbos. Veshamru Bnei Yisrael es haShabbos — they kept Shabbos not only they for themselves, but la'asos, gemacht Shabbos far andere. And then he brings a beautiful pshat. He says that the Gemara says in Shabbos kuf yud tes amud beis, Kol hamispalel b'Erev Shabbos v'omer Vayechulu, ma'aleh alav hakasuv k'ilu na'aseh shutaf laKadosh Baruch Hu b'maaseh Bereishis. He says, who doesn't say Vayechulu? Anyone davens Maariv says Vayechulu. Vos iz di greyse... Gedulah, right? Zogt by gedaven Friday tzu nacht. Das is the ganze, but people don't come to shul Friday, they don't daven. What's the big? Zogt, בלבוש המאירי דקפשט. You notice, we don't say Vayechulu only once. We say it twice. We say it in the Shemoneh Esrei, and then we repeat it afterwards, b'tzibur, together with everyone. Farvos? Asi d'tzvei inyanim in shmiras Shabbos. One is presentlach, your personal. That's when you say Shemoneh Esrei, between you and the Ribono Shel Olam. It's private. It's your Shabbos. And then there's Vayechulu that I mentioned screams out, Vayechulu hashamayim v'haaretz, as me'oir the tzibur, his friend, the people around him. Rabosai, say Shabbos. But dafn Shabbos. That's why we say Vayechulu twice. The first Vayechulu zugt men, it's for yourself. Private. It's your Shemoneh Esrei, still. It say to Vayechulu, b'rabim, b'tzibur. You go out, rabosai, joint. So tzammen, a tzibur, we're keeping Shabbos. Then he says, that's efsher pshat in the two malachim. Why do the Gemara says two malachim come?

A melaveh person, when he leaves his house, his shul, to his house on Shabbos. Vos iz er b'sveim halochim? Vos shteit zach, the zach, the neshama. Aveis, I'm stam geh a toisente terutzim af dem, yeah? But the Yoshev says something interesting, original. Yeah, aveis, a teirah fun the gadol hador, Reb Yoshev nuher. Vos der gadol hador farshteht in Shabbos. He says the first malach is Yoshmir Shabbos. Der tzveyte kumt ba din shtub. Zen vi fil Shabbos mayenim, meaning by the kinder. Nachnoses orchim, host doch orchim ban tisheiched nisht dame. Shabbos is not v'shamru only, but it's what? It's la'asos es haShabbos. Nu, meredike reid, nu, shein? Beautiful. Yeah, good, good, okay. Nu, yeah, aveis, az a chazise reid, nu? I was so taken, I was so touched by it. A meredike vort. A person thinks to himself, a macht Shabbos, a chid Shabbos, what about Klal Yisroel, what about others? Is it part of your shmirah Shabbos as alle? Zoln hiten Shabbos. Is it part of your Shabbos as all hom zol hom, a sheine Shabbos? Toln nichlal in shmirah Shabbos. Yeah, mainon yenems. Hen mitzad shmirah that they should keep the Shabbos, and hen mitzad zoln taka a sheine Shabbos. I mean, people are in hospitals. They don't have Shabbos. They don't enjoy the Shabbos, the shver Shabbos. You can go out of their way. Machazikah, Yidden zol hobn hakafos Shabbos, afilu nazam matziv. Those hate Shabbos. Ach Shabbosai tishmoru. And that's the second malach. The first malach, he wants to know, as du geyst aheim fun shul, zingst. Chassidim flegn zingen on the way home from shul, tanzen. So that's the first malach. The second malach, he wants to see. He wants to take Yenim's Shabbos: the vai, the kinder, the ochim. He sees, hea gutte Shabbos, l'shana, l'Shabbos haba. The next Shabbos, ... the next Shabbos you get a bracha. So taka hobn aza Shabbos. So this is Ach Shabbosai, the two Shabbos. But we spoke out from the Brisker Rav. I don't know what it is today. There's something in the air today, chreis aleinish. You want to know? Let me tell you. The more there's ikuvim, the stronger you gotta say the shiur. It just means more resolve, that's all. It's okay. Pesach, tefillah. There, walked in, I fell. I started, the phone started to ring. ... Destroy the concentration. Middle of talking, the sefer has to fall, an afalpikein. Afalpikein. Yeah, let's go. Yeah. Brisker Rav sagt. And Indo pshat, acher Shabsoisai. We spoke about it a little bit last week. The first one is, Ki ani Hashem mekadishchem, ki osi. Then there's v'shamru bnei Yisrael, which is an os, sheyesh mei Bereishis. The Rabbeinu Shalom bashaas in the world. Kedusha. Kedusha is Shabbos u'moed. Okay, the Rabbeinu Shalom is mekadesh Klal Yisrael, and through that they're mekadesh the zmanim. Yisrael v'hazmanim. So the first one is Shabbos, which is Shabbos and Yom Tov, zogt the Brisker Rav. The koach hakedusha, techilah l'mikraei kodesh. Shabbos is the root of all kedushos. U'memeila, Shabsoisai, because Shabbos ikri moed—no, I'm sorry, moed ikri Shabbos. Shabbos is moed; it's the same thing, you have two. Acher Shabsoisai, Shabbos and Yom Tov. And das is an os of kedusha. Sheyesh shemei Bereishis, the same Shabbos. V'shamru bnei Yisrael es haShabbos, azei zogt the Brisker Rav. So, acher Shabsoisai, Shabbos u'Yom Tov. Shabbos and Yom Tov. Yom Tov is called Shabbos. And as far as os of kedusha...

Yom Tov is also included. We say in Kiddush, techilah l'mikraei kodesh. We speak about yetzias Mitzrayim, zecher l'yetzias Mitzrayim, zecher l'yetz... What does Shabbos have to do with yetzias Mitzrayim? Because it's techilah l'mikraei kodesh. All the Yom Tovim begin with Shabbos. It has to do with Shabbos, says the Brisker Rav. So we discussed last week, what's the lashon of the pasuk, Ki os hi beini uveineichem, ki ani Hashem mekadishchem. Shabbos is an os as the Ribbono Shel Olam was makdish Klal Yisrael. So if you learn kipshuto, the Brisker's got a geshmak, because since it's what Yom Tov included, so it has to be an os, ki ani Hashem mekadishchem, mekadesh Yisrael v'hazmanim. Kipshuto, pashut pshat, a beis like glatt, yeah? Yom Tov is a siman as Klal Yisrael's kodesh, mizogt es in the davening, mekadesh Yisrael v'hazmanim. So if acher sheb'soisai means Yom Tov included, then it's os hi, it's a siman, ki ani Hashem mekadishchem. Ha'beis efshar kemen zogn mit a bisl a beher, drush, an amkus: how is Shabbos an os, ki ani Hashem mekadishchem? Duch the Yahrzeit has told you people always ask me, what is Shabbos and why is it so important? A Yid on Shabbos is a Yid. A chassid, who someone is mechalel Shabbos, it's chas v'shalom avodah zarah. It's shayach a Yid on Shabbos. The Zohar says that Klal Yisroel is called Shabbos. It's a mefurash Zohar. Klal Yisroel is called Shabbos. You know, they used to talk about certain people as a Shabbos Yid. There's no such thing. Val yeder Yid is a Shabbos Yid. Arebbe Shabbos, a Yid, a Yid is Shabbos. You can't have a Shabbos Yid. Saying the same thing twice. Shabbos Yid is doch tzuzelbe zach. A Yid on Shabbos, it doesn't. A Yid mushav in Shabbos. So what is it? What is Shabbos that's the Yid? Good, it's meyid. It's true, it's meyid what? That the Ribono Shel Olam created the world. Goyim also have to believe, as the Ribono Shel Olam ... the world. And yet we find it interessant: akum sheShavas, chayav misah. As what, goyim don't have to believe as the Ribono Shel Olam ... the world. The Ribono Shel Olam, matanah tovah yesh li b'veis genazai. It's for you, and it's you, and only you. But if Shabbos is an ois, as the Ribono Shel Olam ... the world, to the point that a Yid has to have Shabbos, otherwise ein ish kiYid. You hear the question? It's a good kashya, no? Imagine a goy. You know, we live in the outside world. I'm not so ... in the outside world, but everyone knows the seven-day evangelists. Vos viln zey? Hashem created the world, no? Seven days, but they look at the Torah, it says the Ribono Shel Olam ... the world, and say they want to keep Shabbos. What's wrong? ... So what? So what? ... And what is Shabbos? What is the Shabbos, the sod, the secret of ... the Shabbos? Gut kemeren fun haynt biz morgen. There's a lot of Torah. But I want to tell you something interesting. This week's parsha, parshas Vayakhel states, U'shmartem es haShabbos ki kodesh hi lachem. Vos iz shlecht if it would say, U'shmartem es haShabbos ki kodesh hi? What's the hadgasha, ki kodesh hi lachem? You don't say ... shteit kodesh, shteit kodesh lachem. In parshas Ki Sisa, shteit, U'shmartem es haShabbos ki kodesh hi lachem, vayter lachem. Do vayter, shmirah Shabbos ki kodesh hi lachem. So there's a chiddah. The chiddah says that Shabbos is ... lachem. Darf essen, darf trinken, aber me darf visen az der lachem darf zayn kodesh. Az ey zogt der chiddah.

Yeah? Lachem, yeah. Yes, it's a takkeh lachem, yeah. Essen and trinken and shlafen, that's all good. Aber ki kodesh hi lachem. Davar ein leigen the kodesh in the lachem. Yeah, you have to put the kodesh in the lachem. ... the lachem and the kedushah gehen tzusamen. It's an alte famous vort, as the world says, the charifes. Sheishes yamim ta'avod, right? Dortn shteit nisht kodesh hi lachem. Shabbos kodesh. In Parshas Vayakhel it says, Sheishes yamim tei'aseh melachah. Yom ha'shvi'i kodesh yihyeh lachem. You know the difference between sheishes yamim ta'avod and sheishes yamim tei'aseh melachah? So there's a very famous Beis Yosef, brings a Yerushalmi, Reish Pei Ches, brings a Yerushalmi that there's two avodos on Shabbos. One avodah is a mensch must arbet a gantze vokh. You know what he has to do? Shabbos muzan kodesh far. Shabbos. The person works all week. Shabbos is learning and davening, all right, ... okay, good, okay. Aber lernen and davening zich, yeah, klar. But the person who learns all week, what is him? A daf shlafen, right? That's the two girsa'os. Shineh b'Shabbos, tainug; learning, shlofen, it depends for who. Ein zach is shlof. A shlofen, a lernen is nisht dos, nisht dos. Other learn, other shlofen. Huh? Whatever. I want you to know. I was once asked to write up a shtikel Torah. They wanted to put it upside in the newspaper. I didn't want to do it. They were running after me. So I wrote up a shtikel Torah. Chashmus, I gave them, we wrote it, my talmidim, they sat, they sent it in. They called me back. It's not for the newspaper. They need a shtikel Torah, vos nochn shulchan, from a couch, and to read it. This is not. Chumashkeit, tainus, a bit interesant. ... Nu, nu, yeah, you with me? Yeah, good. So far, so good. Okay. So what's the sheishes yamim te'aseh melachah? That's going on the Talmud Chacham. It's not taavah; it's te'aseh. Te'aseh is like the other, that other's work. So meileh, ki kodesh hi, that's melachah. Shabbos is kodesh. Sheishes yamim taavod, Shabbos nor kodesh. It's only kodesh. Where sheishes yamim te'aseh melachah, which means the Talmud Chacham must underarbeiten, er hot a din lachem. Er ken zitsen un zogn... I'm basically with me. Maybe I'm going a little too quickly. I'd rather you understand it than people should say, Rabbi Wolkin says a geshmake shiur. So can we, yeah, you hear? Vaz vil men do? Me vil farteitchen. We want to understand Shabbos is kodesh, yeah, but it's not stam kodesh. It's an ois of kedushas Yisrael. פארשטייט? A Shabbos is kodesh, chaveisai, das veis men ale. פארשטייט? Aber vi iz dos an ois? Ki ois hi beini uveineichem, ki ani Hashem mekadishchem. How is it an ois? So we said, could be Shabbos and Yontif is included in achas shabsosa tishmoru, so we know how it's an ois, ki ani Hashem mekadishchem. Yeah, good? Because if ani Hashem mekadishchem, that's how you make Yontif. Let's say, rabbeisei, another pshat. Yeah, a beher. Kedushas Shabbos is kadosh, nitztam kadosh. It's kadosh hi lachem.

What's the hadgasha? Vos vil men mit kodesh hi lochem? So we said that the lachem davka ein kodesh. Basically, a redn mussar fun haynt biz morgn. Yeah. And I don't—I'm not this big baal mussar. You enjoy your Shabbos. I'd rather tell you to enjoy your Shabbos. Enjoy it, all right? Not going to cut away all the enjoyments of Shabbos. Enjoy it. So vos iz der kodesh hi lochem? Vos vil men az zi kodesh lochem? So, let me tell you a chiddush, vos ich mein, efsher, efsher, b'ezras Hashem yisbarach. We find by a lulav, un an esrog, eich it lakachtem lochem. What does lochem mean? Lochem means mine. Davka zayns, huh? It has to be—it's like a kinyan. It's mine. The Torah vil az a Yid zol kuken af Shabbos, zi zayn Shabbos. It's mine. It's my Shabbos. Zi mine. Imagine a person walks around saying, This is my car, and this is my house, and this is my backyard. Zi mein Shabbos, chaver. It's mine. I remember my rebbi, aleha hashalom, she grew up around the Chofetz Chaim. Even her sichas chulin spoke volumes about Yiddishkeit and Yiddishe hergeshim. Thursday before she was nifter, she nifter on a Sunday, the doctor took a cardiogram and said, Rebbetzin, you need to go to the hospital. The party room is no good. You have to go. She said, But how can I go Thursday night, Friday? Vos vet zayn mit mein Shabbos? Mein Shabbos? What's going to be with my Shabbos? What did she mean? Zit gekacht of Shabbos, she said to Tevye. I mean, what's my Shabbos? The chavivus. Mein Shabbos. Oitzer. It's a treasure. Imagine someone gives you a treasure. Don't touch it. It's mine. It belongs to me. עקום ששבת חייב מיתה, the Meiri says, you know why? Sheva mitzvos Bnei Noach. Sheva mitzvos Bnei Noach. If they're over on any one of them, they're chayav misah. Gezeilah, if they steal, they're chayav misah. עכום ששבת, he's a goy, he's stealing my Shabbos, says the Meiri. עכום ששבת חייב מיתה, as a ganef. The ganef, he's stealing my Shabbos. כי קודש היא לכם. It's kodesh for you. See, taanug. You know what kodesh also means? It's miyuchad. It's special. It's chelek. Now, chelek has many translations. There's kedusha, there's kedushas haguf. But kedusha could also mean me'orer mikdash. You know, there's a Yerushalmi that says there's a din yirah. By Shabbos, the yireim, the shitas haYireim. The shitas haYireim is, bedavka meiraham from Shabbos. Huh? Yarei Shabbos. Tell me, what are you afraid of? So pashut, you could come and say you should be afraid not to be over issurim. Bizchus the chibah for Gedolei Yisrael, that they were afraid to do anything, that chas v'shalom might come a psak aveis. You know, bizchus from Satmar Rav, right? He was afraid to put his feet down a whole Shabbos because he was afraid of shechitah, shoes were wet, the socks were wet. I remember growing up, you heard all these stories. A pachad Shabbos, a pachad. But you know what the real yirah of Shabbos is? What's yiras haShabbos? When you see something so huge, it's so great, it's so... see half of a fella, eh? It's also din yirah. You don't need a yiras ha'onesh of Shabbos. You need yiras haromemus of Shabbos. Shabbos. He didn't walk around, מיין שבת, how could you touch my Shabbos? Tell me here, I'll give you an example. See, you stopped writing.

You should be writing this. This is a good davar. You ready? Let's say I gave you—oh, he's listening. He picked up his pen and stuff. Pasuk states, 'Vishamru lecha pen.' Tishkach es hadvarim. If you don't write, it'll be tishkach es hadvarim if you don't. Okay. If I gave you a special gold watch. It's one of a kind, and it's only to you. I wouldn't give it to anybody else. And it's an antique, and you collect antiques, so you appreciate it. Nobody else. Comes the heimish shtub, and you see your next-door neighbor, the sheigetz, is wearing it because he broke into your house and he took it. That's how you should look at Akum shel Shabbos. That's exactly how you should look at Akum shel Shabbos. The Torah zogt, matanah tovah, otzar yesh li b'ginazai. It's an antique, Shabbos. An antique. You know what the antique is? Torahs Yidden am dus getan, Torahs Yidden am dus gehalten. It's an antique, something very special, the Shabbos. U'meileh, the yirah. Would you be afraid to play around with an antique, something that's—you're careful. How would you say, careful, careful? That's called yiras haShabbos, the yirah from Shabbos. So of course we could say, could be the yirah of Shabbos is yirah from the Eibishter that gave the Shabbos, or yirah from the oynesh of Shabbos, but it's a little bit more, rabosai. With the yirah, Shabbos. It's an antique. It's a beis genazai. Before the Brias Olam shein given. זי טאמער real antique Shabbos. Okay, רבי, למה פתאום yetzt? What is the Shabbos? You can't explain it to the regular person. For someone that appreciates antiques, and someone that has a feeling for it, he'll appreciate it. If you show it to someone with a shteitzach nisht, doesn't mean anything to him. It means nothing to him. Shabbos... What are you talking about? Told you over that Gedolim spoke about Shabbos. Mit a zah love that it was tangible, the Shabbos. They felt it. Told you that I went to the Skulener Rebbe for the first time, Friediger Skulener Rebbe. I was a little boy. The first thing he told me, you know what he said to me? He said to me, The alter zeides hakdome, hakdome. Shabbos. He saw what he wrote about Shabbos. What did he write about Shabbos? In Pinsk, ... Now it's interesting. Maskilim, what do they like to attack? Shabbos. For some reason, the Shabbos is the point of attack. Hitten Shabbos, nit hitten Shabbos. They know what the neshama of a Yid is. They know how to get, to stop the lifeline of a Yid. So he got up and he announced, Yavo y'noi hapaishin, she'einam chashim... They don't hold of the Shabbos, and I'll give them the Shabbos that they should feel it, kedushas haShabbos b'yadayim. Let them come to me, let them come to me, and I'll give them to feel — kedushas, again the Chumash closes — give them the kedushas haShabbos that they should feel it. He said over many times from Reb Eliyahu Lopian. Reb Eliyahu Lopian used to say over from the Chayei Adam that if someone prepares himself properly for Shabbos — it's interesting, he says, megateh mikveh — you'll feel the neshama yeseira and the Shabbos as he comes into your body. That's the Chayei Adam. Reb Eliyahu Lopian used to say it over. V'gam ani, he said, I myself also a few times experienced it, a few times. He experienced it. I wish, a little bit once, you hear. But he said he felt it a few times. He heard Chayei Adam. He felt that if a person prepares himself properly — and that's the key word, Rabbi, he says — if he prepares himself properly, he'll feel kedushas haShabbos. Reb Eliyahu Lopian always used to have this thing, Shabbos, and the minute Shabbos came, he felt it. They say that when he was on his deathbed in the hospital...

He was, you know, bein a chayim uvein hameisim. So in that situation, doctors don't want you to, you know, to move the or say anything, because then the person gets nisragish, and that itself, right, a person gets emotional, and itself. So they told, we're not telling him it's Shabbos, because that might... So the family decided they're not even going to wear bigdei Shabbos when they walk into the room. He shouldn't chap that it's Shabbos, because his avodah were, Ah, Shabbos, it could cause him to get a heart attack or whatever it is. Mishpachah is made, it's in Reb Elia Lopian's sefarim, that the minute tzeis came, Reb Elia Lopian started. He said, they said the room was dark, they couldn't tell the difference, night or day. And there was no way he should would have known it was Shabbos. And as soon as Shabbos came, he started, Lecha Dodi, Hashem, ... it's Reb Elia Lopian's sefarim. Dos heist, gefilt Shabbos. That's called, he felt the Shabbos, you hear? Tell me, rabosai, how does one have that feeling of Shabbos and kedushas Shabbos? And the answer is, az a Yiddish kaddish, he feels kedushah. Oy, ki ani Hashem mekadishchem. My uncle used to tell me over a lot of times, az a litvishe, geven a zog: Der vos farshteit, darf men nit tzaylen. You don't have to tell him. Un der vos farshteit nit, vet nisht helfen keiner tatzaylen. It's not going to help him. One who understands, you know, there's nothing to farshteit, and one who doesn't understand... As much as you talk, it's not gonna — you'll never understand it. Reb Eliyahu used to say, Tamu'u ki tov Hashem. Can't explain. Certain things are not explainable. Taste it, you'll see, it's good. Can you explain a person has haguteh shtickel? Can't. Tamu'u, taste it, you'll see, ki tov Hashem. Shabbos is this el bizar. What? When Shabbos? I can't. There's no way to explain it. Once it does mazbizayn a goyishe kop, a zicher shtamatz. Huh? Any kid experiences Shabbos, just see a child — I'm coming to your house, because if your child does that to you, I want to know. Okay. Let me tell you. ... Shabbos echad. Okay, and the Yid is not distraught from it. He's together with the Eibishter. Something's wrong. Something's wrong. So why don't people feel it? And the Torah says something's wrong. When a person isn't feeling well, he's missing, felt a makah, he's not — his arm is, is, is, what do they call that? There's no feeling in his arm. He's not gonna feel fire, right? If you have feeling in your heart, you'll feel Shabbos. Oisi. Ki ani Hashem mekadishchem. You know, there's a Chazal. Chazal — and I just want to tell you an interesting diyuk. What's the lashon? Ki oisi, ki ani. It's an ois. It's a sign. What's the... How is it a sign? I'll tell you a ... Yeah. You know, there's a sign that everybody understands. And then there's a sign that's only between people that understand each other. You pick up, you pick up, ah, I get it. There's a Chazal, Bereishis Rabbah, Yud Aleph tes. Knesses Yisrael—I'm sorry, Chazal say that Shabbos came at the ta'ina to HaKadosh Baruch Hu: For everything You made a ben zug, for everything You made a ben zug. You never made a ben zug for me. What's my ben zug? You know what ben zug means? It's more than a partner. It's a soulmate. A ben zug is a soulmate. It's mamash, huh? HaKadosh Baruch Hu said, Knesses Yisrael, Klal Yisrael is your ben zug. What does that mean? So there's an interesting Ramban. The Ramban says that all the musafim shtei kaparos.

By Shabbos, by the musaf of Shabbos, it doesn't say kaparah. That's when it falls, ches beis. A sekunde beis, we'll find. Oh, zogt der Ramban favos. Why by all the musafim it says kaparah? By the musaf of Shabbos, it doesn't say the word kaparah. Okay, so here, okay, Ramban. You see, you brought me the Ramban that I'm not used to. The new ones, we're gonna have to find it for ourselves. Oh. O, tazei. Zogt er, ochein b'musafei haShabbos chatos k'shaar kol hamusafim, ein. It doesn't say it. All musafim shteit kaparah. The musaf of Shabbos shteit nisht kein kaparah. Favos? Mipnei sheknesses Yisrael bas zugo. V'hakol shavin. When all is good, all is good. V'hamaskil yavin. Favos, farshteyt, farshteyt. You know what the Ramban is saying? I'm not even gonna bother explaining it. There's nothing to explain. Favos, farshteyt, farshteyt. V'mezogt Shabbos shalom. Yeah, yeah, you with me? You hear? V'maskimt? Favos, Favos. Favos, farshteyt. Nosei, you hear? Favos, farshteyt. The one who understands. I don't have... there's nothing to... l'maaseh, you have pashteit. So what's ben zug? So the truth is, in this Ramban, daf is good to upload, and the Ramban is learning that Klal Yisrael is Shabbos, and we become ben zug of the Eibishter. And because we become ben zug of the Eibishter, so there's no kaparah. What's kaparah? You have a husband and a wife have a fight, but the guy has to go bring a korban. Make up and buying good luck. It's all right. Everyone's laughing because it's not that way. It is that way. It should be that way. Okay, I don't know what I said. I put myself into a matzav, they can scream me after the shiur. But that's what it means. I can't help it. That's what the Ramban means. The Ramban means, it's a vision, liba between me and you. We love each other. It's all good. Hakol shalom. You know what we're saying? Everything's good. It's all good. V'hamaskil yavin. Tehavos pashteit, pashteit. So pashut it means that we are ben zug with the Eibishter, v'al kol Yisrael Shabbos. Hameileh it's not shayach to chet. V'chet, v'chet. It's all good. Turn the page and we move weiter, right? Aber, what's the pashut pshat in the Chazal? Shabbos is saying, I don't have a partner, a ben zug vos pashteit mir. That's pashut pshat in the Chazal. Yeder zach, ah, kishmak, ah. Shabbos is saying, who's my ben zug? Who can even understand raza d'Shabbos? Who understands me? Can't find the partner. In English, I can't find the shidduch. Yes, in English. In English, ... finish the shidduch. Someone who can understand me, someone who can ... understand me. Knesses Yisrael. The answer is Klal Yisrael, פארשטייט? Ois. You know what an ois is? When two people are close to each other, they don't have to say anything. We have our own silent simanim, a wink, uh-oh, okay, got it, got it. You ever see when the husband and wife have to leave a chasunah, right? Each husband would have their siman. One looks at a clock, and one takes out the phone, right? Okay, it's time to go, right? Each one has... You're still stuck in the Ramban? I can explain. The Ramban is saying a ... thing. Since Klal Yisrael is ... of the Eibishter, so forget it. Forget. Forget. Could you imagine if you go out and you take the kesher, of course, no. You take the husband and you report him to the IRS and he sits in jail, you got problems on that.

There's a problem over there. Sometimes you could take it, besides achin, destroy it. Shabbos, you could destroy it. But on all other aveiros, that's what he's trying to say, on all other aveiros, we don't talk about it on Shabbos. Shabbos is a time of peace. Ever see people say, Well, we don't bring it up. It's a good matzav. Forget about it. Let's not talk about it. That's what the Rabbanan say, a kol shalom. Now, you want to know more? You have to be hamaskil. There's a lot of Torah on this. So I'll tell you what, let's leave this for after the shiur. I'm willing to stay with you as long as you want. But for the people who are watching, they're thinking, Okay, how long is he going to go? I can fight with you till Shabbos comes, and then I'll tell you, Shabbos shalom. That's it, finished. Okay, rabosai, al kol panim. So let's go back, nu. Acha Shabbosai tishmeru, az mehit the Shabbos, yeah. Now there's different levels to shmiras Shabbos. Shabbos is not just the basic package of shmiras Shabbos, of hit the Shabbos. Machdaruchniyus, more and more shmiras Shabbos. Ki ois hi, that's a siman on the one who's receiving, that he's kadosh. The more kedusha, the more you'll make Shabbos kadosh. The level that the person comes into Shabbos with, that's how it's lasa, he says, haShabbos. Mi'kan machin Shabbos, u'mi'kan machin Shabbos, chaveirim. You can have Machin Shabbos. You go to the store, and for $39, come in keifin, there's the package deal: a chicken, a kugel, a cholent. It's a macht Shabbos. Tell me, would your bubbe say that? And I don't mean the cooking part. I meant it as an analogy for the ruchniyus of it. I'm not talking about the food. Not the bubbe gezogt, dos is gemacht Shabbos. How much heart and how much feeling you put into the Shabbos, dos is gemacht Shabbos. Acheshavsoi, there's so many levels to Shabbos. There's so many different ways and parts and pieces of Shabbos. Acheshavsoi tishmoru, la'asos es haShabbos. And that's an ois, ki ani Hashem mekadishchem. You want to explain it? I can't. Someone's going to walk away from this shiur and say, What did Rabbi Wolkin say? He says, I can't explain it. I don't care. But did you feel it, Rabbi Yisai? Dos is Shabbos.
