This Torah class is brought to you by TorahAnytime.com. We approach Tisha B'Av, where we're misabel on the Churban Habayis. Avodah, part of the avodah is to understand why, why the Churban, and at the same time to work on tikkun, and how to be mesaken eitzes, things that we need to work on that will help us, bring us closer to the geulah. But we should get back the bayis, the coming of Mashiach. Kol hamesabel al Yerushalayim zocheh v'roeh b'nechamasah. It's a twofold avodah: avodah to be misabel, but also to work on the zocheh v'roeh, to do things that will bring us closer to the nechamah. And all this is a chelek; it's all included in the avodah, the avodas hayom of the three weeks until Tisha B'Av. There's a lot that Chazal tell us about the churban. I'd like to take out one nekudah we could work on that's clear through the Chazal, the reason for the churban and what will help us fix and bring us closer to the geulah. Pasuk says in Yeshaya, perek aleph, pasuk chav-zayin: Tzion b'mishpat tipadeh, v'shaveha b'tzedakah. Tzion b'mishpat tipadeh, v'shaveha b'tzedakah. It's dafka Erev Shabbos Chazon. It's telling us how the geulah will come, what will hasten the geulah: Tzion b'mishpat v'shaveha b'tzedakah. Chazal tell us that the geulah will come through tzedakah. Ein Yisrael nigalin ela b'tzedakah. The Rambam brings it down lahalachah. Matnas aniyim, perek yud, halacha aleph. ואין יוסר נגאלים אלא בצדקה, שנאמר: ציון במשפט תפדה ושביה בצדקה. So the Rambam is kovea in the halacha. There are many Chazalim on what's going to bring the geulah. There are many Chazalim what causes the churban. The Rambam is kovea in halacha. The Rambam is a halacha; yad hachazakah is gepaskened, that this Chazal: אין ישראל נגאלים אלא בצדקה, שנאמר: ציון במשפט תפדה ושביה בצדקה. Why? What's the ma'alah of tzedakah, rabosai? Tashteitzach, tzedakah is a beginning, chesed, rachamim. There are many Chazalim that tell us that tzedakah is the reason for the churban. There's a Chazal, medrash, that Churban Yerushalayim because they stopped poskim.

Those that gave tzedakah, Tuvka had given tzedakah. No. So if that's what caused churban, so the tikkun is to give tzedakah. But there are many chazalim, rabosai, l'charva Yerushalayim for many reasons. There's many, many Chazalim like this. One is they didn't keep Shabbos, and one is because they were mevatel shemitah, v'cheinah v'cheinah, rabosai. There's many, many ta'amim. If you look through the Chazalim, what was the reason? We all know the Gemaras: Bayis Rishon was avodah zarah, the Second Beis Hamikdash was sinas chinam. But on top of that, there are many Gemaras of other aveiros that were done. U'medaf aleph, rabosai, through the shiur we're going to talk about this. I mean, which one is it? Is it the Gemara that tells us, al shelo berchu baTorah techilah? Is it avodah zarah? Is it sinas chinam, Bayis Rishon, Bayis Sheini? But there's so many different Chazalim that seem to be pointing at different things of why churban Yerushalayim. V'tinredna mi'etz Hashem. But this is clear: the Rambam, geulah has to do with tzedakah. Why? What's the pshat? And how do we reconcile, how do we reconcile all the different Chazalim of why the Beis Hamikdash was charuv, why Yerushalayim was destroyed? I'd like to share with you, rabosai, a peledike kliyaka, peledike kliyaka. Finding this week's parsha that we just had, just learned, the Bnos Tzelafchad came to Taina they want a chelek b'Eretz Yisrael. Rashi tells us, why did the Bnos Tzelafchad have such a תשוקה for a nachalah b'Eretz Yisrael? ולמד שהנשים היו מחבבות, because the women had חיבוב ארץ; they loved Eretz Yisrael. Many kashas on this Chazal. Rishon kol, nashim, so it's not Bnos Tzelafchad, it's all the nashim. Rashi even tells us it comes from Yosef, that the grandfather married Menashe ben Yosef, because Yosef was mechabev es ha'aretz, because he said, ואלוקים פקוד יפקוד אתכם, take up my bones. So the kasha is, so then it's nothing to do with all the women. It's Bnos Tzelafchad, it's the einiklach, it's the grandchildren. How did all of a sudden turn into all the women are mechabeves ha'aretz? Another ha'ara: ואלוקים פקוד יפקוד אתכם. What's the reason to be buried in Eretz Yisrael? Pashtus in the Gemara in Kesubos kuf yud alef, the Rambam, gilgul mechilos. It has to do with people want to be buried in Eretz Yisrael so they don't have to roll when Mashiach comes. Techyas hameisim, he said this reason, gilgul mechilos, Afro kinim. None of it is about chibuv ha'aretz. Who states that the burial in Eretz Yisrael has to do with chibuv ha'aretz? Shein ha'aretz habais. Shtarker. There's a peledike Kli Yakar. The Kli Yakar fataytshes chivuv haaretz of the nashim is not about the eretz, Eretz Yisrael, but it's about the tzedakah that's mechuyavim min Eretz Yisrael. Azoy zogt the Kli Yakar. Pashtus melaut, Eretz Yisrael, chivuv haaretz, heilig, meredik, yeah. Kli Yakar says women have a problem of giving tzedakah; the baal owns the money. Good, in halacha, to see the halacha klar, it's not the right time to go through the whole halacha. A husband is mechuyiv to give a wife enough tzedakah, money, funds, that she should give tzedakah and not feel embarrassed that she says no when they come to ask her. It's a halacha discussion for another time. But b'ikar, she doesn't have money to spend all her money on tzedakah. But in Eretz Yisrael, zogt the Kli Yakar, it's a chiyuvus.

Ma'asros, challah, by raisa, d'rabbanan, in Eretz Yisroel it's d'oraisa, yeah? So it's chiyuves, chiyuves. So the women were mechayev Eretz Yisroel because of its tzedakah shebo, the chamerdige kliyaka. Very probably not as known as it should be. Parshas developed, as the chiyuv of Eretz has to do, liba for Eretz Yisroel, chavivus for the land, for kedushas ha'aretz. He learns it's for the tzedakah, and he even ties it back to the Chazal that it has to do with Yosef. Vos hot es mit Yosef? Yosef also loved to give tzedakah. He was zan u'mefarnes. So he says that that's the pshat, l'maatim in asher ben Yosef, but leitach lib gadgeben tzedakah. Nu, gevaldike. I was once sitting in a shiur by Rabbi Reb Belsky, and he was discussing a new innovation that came out. There was a person in Eretz Yisroel that had karka, he had lands in Eretz Yisroel, he had farms, and he made like a whole movement that if you gave him a few dollars, he would sell you a chelek from the karka, and like this you could give trumos and maasros, ken zayn in done chutz la'aretz, and you can mekayem trumos and maasros. So Reb Belsky's atzal, Rabbi was railing against it. He says, Vos, left in Borough Park, live in Borough Park, the main ... ma'alos Eretz Yisrael, ach yishuv Eretz Yisrael, to live in Eretz Yisrael, yishuv Eretz Yisrael, leben al leben fun Eretz Yisrael, un geben trumos u'ma'asros is one of the ma'alos of living in Eretz Yisrael, ... and sending it a long distance to give trumos u'ma'asros, didn't hold of it. After the shiur, I walked over to him. I said, Rebbe, I have two problems with what you said. Reishis kol, the first person that signed, you know, the Chalamol gedolim and rabbanim to sign on these new movements is you. Chashteinisht? Your name is there. You're the first one that you signed on it. So he answered me. He said, Listen, it's not a bad thing. Ken ich shatn? When I give machin parnassah, vos iz shlecht? So he told me, Vos iz shlecht? Okay, so I signed on it. Kasher a maaseh, you know. It's not good? Not a bad thing. Ober meinin mit dem hot men Eretz Yisrael, and I quickly pulled out the Kli Yakar. Went to the back of the room, and I pulled out the Kli Yakar. I said, The ganze Eretz Yisrael is ofgeben tzedakah, ofgeben trumos u'ma'asros. That was already something. Just looking at it, it's a Kli Yakar, a chashuvte Kli Yakar. Habeisai, what's takke tzedakah? Lomer redn, lomer farshtein tzedakah. I'm going to ... What's the ... in the pasuk? Tzion b'mishpat tipadeh, b'mishpat, mishpat. And v'shaveha b'tzedakah. It says, is it mishpat? Is it tzedakah? What's the chiluk between tzion and shaveha? So there's three pshatim, and I'm sure there's many more, but there's three very interesting pshatim, and a fourth one which I'll tell you in a few moments. One is Reb Chaim Brisker. Chaim Brisker ... der shaila: what's the mishpat and what's the v'shaveha b'tzedakah? And he says a mechudike vort, az Yidden tuen tzedakah, so they undo the reason why they have to be in galus. They undo the reason why there has to be a churban habayis. The whole reason why the Ribbono Shel Olam ... the Beis Hamikdash is an eiravon. He took it as a collateral for Klal Yisrael. So mimeila, if v'shaveha b'tzedakah, vet dos zayn Tzion b'mishpat tipadeh. Ken manen. It's a din Torah. You have to ... Reb Chaim Brisker learned up it's a din Torah. Tzion vet kumen mit a din Torah, mit hilches eiravon.

Chesed. The ganze cheshbon was must machriv geven was because I have to be nirehvin. If Klal Yisroel took care of the problem with tzedakah, m'meila siyum b'mishpat. Mit a mishpat vet kumen Moshiach, mimeila tzarich uvayn afnai. Reb Chaim Brisker. They say from Reb Chaim Brisker, the Brisker sefarim, the Brisker shiurim bring this vort. I saw from Reb Chaim Kanievsky a pashte vort, shein vi gold. ... a sheine vort, a glatte vort. B'mishpat tipodeh, there's going to be a chiyuv for geulah. The Ribono Shel Olam said, but which dor will be zoche to that? Which dor will be from those that will be zoche v'ro'u v'nechamoso? That's veshaveh b'tzedakah. Tzion b'mishpat tipodeh. Tzion is redeemed, the Ribono Shel Olam said, aber veshaveha, which dor vet zoches, vet dos iz b'tzedakah. Depend how much tzedakah you give. Veshaveh b'tzedakah. Dayan fish iz a chenel levach zech tzaddik livrachah. Nishmas haGadol hadrashah zogt a shaf vort. A mensch git tzedakah, is it his money? A lot of people, they give tzedakah. When it comes to give big money in business, rabosai, not everything is 100 percent. Git men nisht eygene gelt. Kitachyanim's gelt. So the Torah is telling us, ישעיה, the pasuk, ציון במשפט תפדה, והשביה בצדקה. Eishes kal muzes ein elacha gelt. Then, ושביהה בצדקה. Then it's a ma'alah, ושביהה בצדקה. Okay. So these are three very nice pshatim. But rabosai, ... נאמר דגבי בית הלוי, ... ממש, מאיר דגבי בית הלוי. The Beis Halevi, in the end of parshas Beshalach, says a chiddush nifla. He says before Moshiach comes, the one mitzvah that's going to be ikar from all other mitzvos is going to be the mitzvah of tzedakah. And he fatteitches the pasuk, ציון במשפט תפדה, ושביה בצדקה, that the final mitzvah—and this is the Rambam—אין נגאלין אלא בצדקה. Why? Sagt the Beis Halevi, hafla vefeleh, hafla vefeleh. He says every other mitzvah, you do it l'shem Shamayim, it's complete. If you don't do it l'shem Shamayim, it's not complete. You're weak, rabosai, weak, weak. Who knows why we do mitzvos, and who knows the lishmah in every mitzvah? The only mitzvah which even if you don't do it lishmah, the kiyum hamitzvah is b'shleimus, no matter what your kavanah, no matter how you do it, no matter how much you give, it's tzedakah. He says it's the one mitzvah that's nishar that we could do b'shleimus. Zogt the Beis Halevi, that's the pshat, tziyun b'mishpat tipadeh v'shaveha b'tzedakah. And mimeila, he says that this will be the mitzvah that the Ribono Shel Olam is going to keep on sending us, in an amount which we could be mekayem mamash with a ribui, in order we should be able to have the geulah. And he says that's the pshat: Hera Beis, haBeis Halevi, tziyon b'mishpat. We'll be able to mun it, b'mishpat, tziyon v'shaveha with the sign of tzedakah. Mit kumen zogn the Ribono Shel Olam, bring us the geulah. Ribono Shel Olam says, let's open the books, let's see. Did you earn it? Ah, but b'mishpat, you know what? We'll have mishpat that we'll be able to zog, es kumt uns, ken es manen in din, shaveha b'tzedakah. Says the Beis Halevi. Megedige chiddush. The Rebbe in sefarim vet gebracht, a chassidishe Torah on this nekudah, but it's already a famous thing. Chazal tell us, alikei Avraham, alikei Yitzchak, v'alikei Yaakov, yachol yehei chosmin b'kulam, tamud lomar b'cha chosmin. Rabbi Chaim, Magen Avraham. So I think the Baal HaTanya already said it, but a lot of mefarshim already say...

The same nekudah, b'cha choismin. The inyan of chesed, b'cha choismin, will be the chasima. There will be tekufes of Elokei Avraham, Elokei Yitzchak, v'Elokei Yaakov. But the chasima, the final, will be about chesed, the amount of chesed. That will be the chasima of the galus, the final that will bring the geulah. You know, Rabosai, we're bombarded with so many tzedakos. Every week we get in the mail and in the papers and this organization and that chesed and this tzedakah and this, and in Eretz Yisrael, kunt men leifen in America, and people look down at it. I'm a simple Yid, not much. Maybe the Ribono Shel Olam wants us that we should have chesed from all sides, tzedakah, to bring the geulah. And if we can't give, at least we feel bad, or we understand, or we appreciate. Yes, it's an unbelievable barrage of tzedakos. Yes, I agree. But who knows? That's this Beis Halevi. Beis Halevi says it clearly, that this is the nekudah. The Ribono Shel Olam is going to make it that there should be a tremendous need for tzedakah, l'vsof, in order to bring the geulah. I have a kasha, Rabosai. There's another Beis Halevi. The Beis Halevi says that avodah zarah is the yesod of all churban, and that was churban Bayis Rishon. It's a Beis Halevi in Parshas Bo. Later on, we find that Churban Bayis Sheini was not about avodah zarah. He says, yes, it is about avodah zarah. How is it about avodah zarah? Azoi fregt the Beis Halevi a kasha. It starts with the yesod in Parshas Bo; it's all avodah zarah. Bayis Sheini is not avodah zarah, zogt the Siach Avodah Zarah. How is it avodah zarah? Zogt der Tzelib avodah zarah, sie geven on hisbatlus in emunas chachamim. And because there was a hisbatlus in emunas chachamim, which was b'shoresh from avodah zarah, where does this hisbatlus of chachamim come from? Because the Torah, if you had emunah in the Torah, the Torah min haShamayim, there wouldn't be ribui hamachlokes among the chachamim themselves. And this pirud caused that there should be machlokes by the chachamim, mimeila all sinas chinam was rooted from it. And that's what Chachamim, Chazal meant, that sinas chinam is Bayis Sheini. Azoi zogt the Beis Halevi. It was a breakdown. You do at the beis rishon nechah b'chet avodah zarah, So what's the tikkun? Emunah. And he says, the Beis Halevi, Tzadik b'emunaso yichyeh. It's going on this zman hageulah, sheyischazku Yisrael b'emunasam, and that tzaddik. Ve'ikar hanisayon yihyeh b'emunah b'Torah shebaal peh, hepech haTzedukim. B'kitzur, it's rooted in avodah zarah. Okay. There's an interesting Chasam Sofer. Chasam Sofer fregt a kasha, and I started this with this. It's in Shabbos HaGadol, Chasam Sofer in the drashes, fregt: is it avodah zarah? The Gemara states like chovah Yerushalayim because of five or six other reasons. So which one is it? Is it because—

Because of avodah zarah, is it because of bitul emunah, or is it, yeah, ... ... Chazal, ... vashtet. Some sefer says a chiddush. He says really everything is avodah zarah. ... So it would have been a schus toilah. Shabbos would have been toilah. We know a famous Gemara, and again I don't have the time to ... but it's all understandable. Shabbos is, ... right, okay, we know. So meileh, says some sefer, you're right, it's avodah zarah. But had we had the other ma'alos, it would have been schus toilah, and we didn't have those ma'alos. ... ... saying that all aveiros, and sinas chinam, which is the churban Bayis Sheini, is rooted in avodah zarah. It's rooted in avodah zarah, yeah. Avodah zarah. What is avodah zarah? Avodah zarah, it's sometimes a very minute hashkafah, feeling and hergesh and understanding, and the toitzaos of it could be many different kilkulim, many different kilkulim. So it starts with a Bayis Rishon, she'avodah zarah. But because of that avodah zarah, a lot of other things go wrong. Tzedakah, rabosai, I'm going to show you clearly, is rooted in emunah. The yesod of tzedakah is rooted in emunah. There's a Medrash. The Medrash says, Vaya'amin ha'am. Moshe was telling Klal Yisrael that the Ribono Shel Olam will be go'el them. Vaya'amin ha'am, they believed. Says the Medrash, בזכות זה זכו לארץ ישראל. The mefarshim say, emunah and Eretz Yisrael is the same thing. It's one and the same. Emunah. Vaya'amin ha'am, a mensch hat emunah, mimeila he has Eretz Yisrael. It's interesting, all the mitzvos ha'aretz, shemitah, which is really to give tzedakah, rabosai, yeah? What is shemitah? All the lands free for aniyim, tachtegres tzedakah possible, yeah? Open up your bank account, anyone can come and take it. At the same time, what do we have? It's about emunah, right? All the Rishonim, all the mefarshim tell us it's about emunah in the Ribono Shel Olam. Oz tirtze ha'aretz es Shabsoseha. Beis Shammai אומר, one of the ikrim that cause galus, that we should be thrown out of Eretz Yisrael, is shemitah. See, this is the nekudah, rabosai. The emunah and the tzedakah. The emunah and the tzedakah. Emunah and tzedakah go together. Emunah, tzedakah, emunah, tzedakah. You're looking at me. Let me explain to you. Soon we're going to explain it more, but it's clear that shemitah is definitely about emunah, and shemitah, if you look at other Rishonim and other mefarshim, it's about the tzedakah of Eretz Yisrael in the greatest extent possible. Every year you have a chiyuv to give a certain amount. By shemitah, it's open. It's open. Anyone could come. It's to give, right? Mutar. It's open. Emunah and tzedakah, as I soon will show you, is one and the same in yesod. Eretz Yisrael must have these two nekudos, and it must have emunah, and it must have tzedakah. Let's go back to the Chazal. Chazal tell us, Chazal tell us that Yosef was mechavev es ha'aretz because he said, V'ha'alisem es atzmosai mizeh itchem, to take out my bones, v'ha'alisem es atzmosai mizeh itchem. If you notice, he actually never said, Bedavka I want to be buried in Eretz Yisrael. That's not what the ikar was. Pakod yifkod Elokim.

עס חמישה, והעליסם את עצמותי מזה איתכם. פָּקֹד יִפְקֹד is a emunah. In the shpitz of golus, the emunah that there'll be a geulah, the emunah that there'll be a geulah, is the koach of Yosef. פָּקֹד יִפְקֹד אלוקים אתכם מזה. Yosef had a very difficult life in Mitzrayim. He was in a dungeon. You couldn't have gotten more choshech, more darkness, more golus than what Yosef had. Yosef was tzaddik, tzaddik b'emunaso yichyeh. That's what he means, tzaddik b'emunaso yichyeh. Yosef had a tremendous emunah. פָּקֹד יִפְקֹד אלוקים אתכם, והעליתם את עצמותי מזה איתכם. Eretz Yisroel brings out an emunah, a tremendous emunah of the Bnei Shleim. We could sit and be misabel al churban habayis, but in the churban habayis there's an emunah, a fakert. Like the Gemara says, the shevualim hilchu boi, the Tannaim in the shevualim hilchu boi. What did they see in the shevualim hilchu boi? The nevuah of ha'osid, the emunah, the emunah, habeisai. It's a tremendous koach if you think about it. We could be in the depth of a galus, in the depth of a churban, and a yid had that koach, a halisem es atzmoisai mizeh yitchem. Kol hamisabel al Yerushalayim. What is misabel al Yerushalayim? We all know the Chasam Sofer says, when something is dead, you stop being misabel for it. But when something is still alive, you're misabel. Kol hamisabel al Yerushalayim, which means you have the emunah, as this lebnach, it's going to be, that's zoiche v'ro'eh b'nechamasah. This is the nechamah, that in front of you, it's alive. This is the inyan, and I'll soon show it to you klar in the Rishonim, rabosai. At the end of the shiur, I'll show you a Rash, pirlei ploim. This is where I got the whole shiur from, a gevaldige Rash, pirlei ploim. But I just want to show you interesting halachos, rabosai, a little bit. What is tzedakah, and how is tzedakah relevant to pidyon, that this will bring us to the geulah? And what is the geulah about emunah? And the teretz is, because tzedakah really is an expression of emunah. I didn't say this. Heilige, heilige Brisker Rav, it is gesagt. And I'll soon show you where this comes from. The same Rambam that says that Ein Yisrael nigalin ela b'tzedakah. The Rambam is magdim. This is in Halacha Aleph: Chayavim anu lehizaher b'mitzvas tzedakah yoser mikol mitzvos aseh. Hear, beisai, the Rambam is telling us that the greatest, pili ployim, pili ployim, the Rambam is poskening that there's a certain mitzvas aseh that's more important than any other mitzvas aseh. Beisai, nachamo. Halacha l'Maaseh, Rambam, halacha l'Maaseh: Chayavim anu lehizaher b'mitzvas tzedakah yoser mikol mitzvos aseh. It's more than any other mitzvas aseh. We need to be careful in this mitzvah. Sheha-tzedakah siman l'tzadik. The word tzadik. Remember tzadik b'emunaso yichyeh? You remember tzadik? Tzadik. What is a tzadik? Tzadik is emunah. Rambam says it's a siman l'tzadik, zera Avraham Avinu, ki yaduaiv l'man asher yetzaveh es banav la'asos tzedakah. Avraham Avinu learned tois klal Yisrael, ton tzedakah. Then the Rambam says, Ve'ein kisei Yisrael miskanein v'das ha'emes...

Medes ella b'tzedakah. Vos meint a Rambam in di vort? Nu, bist a chochmerdige ben Torah, a lamdan. Explain to me the words. What does it mean, vos meint der Rambam, that das ha'emes is a medes b'tzedakah? What is das ha'emes? Der Ribono Shel Olam. Torah is the das of Klal Yisrael, religion, the yesod of religion. Forgive me if I use American terms. I can explain it to you in a yeshivishe melachechit, lamedes nusach so people should understand. Religion, das ha'emes. Das, das is religion, dos. Religion is about tzedakah. Why is religion about tzedakah? And the Torah, it says, ... in Brisker Rav. I thought of it on my own, and later I heard it's a Brisker Rav, and just here I found ... Reb Chashuve cousin, Reb Yitzchok Soratzkin shlita, a gaon, Reb Yitzchok Soratzkin in his Rinas Yitzchok. Not so much negea to this, but he brings this Brisker Rav. Says, Shemati, heard from the Brisker Rav, tzedakah is emunah, emunah is tzedakah. Farvos? Baal ha'famesh farshteit, vos is der Ribono Shel Olam. He understands that everything the Ribono Shel Olam gives, he's the zon u'mefarnes mi'beitzo kinim ad kan yerechim. Memeila, you give tzedakah. Memeila, you give tzedakah. Rooted in a person who can give tzedakah, he thinks he earned it. Tefilah daheira, boysi, the Biskerov doesn't bring this nekudah, but it's emes. People who don't give tzedakah, it's because they feel they worked on it and they earned it. If you understand those garnisht ufgetan, garnisht getan, what did you do? You didn't do anything. You weren't, you did. The Ribono Shel Olam did zugeschickt. Talya vameira dika, a meiradike vort. I saw this in the maamloyos, and it spoke to me. The word shulchan, table. We know that every word in Lashon Kodesh is b'etzem. It's not stam a word that they chose to mean this. It means the thing itself. So wherein the word shulchan is table. Zogt the maamloyos, it's an avus. Shulchan is milashon shliach. Shulchan shel adam is given to be mefarnes aniyim. Shulchan is shliach. The Ribono Shel Olam gives you, you're a shliach to be mefarnes, to give. And that's why it's shulchan. When a mensh lives in this understanding, dos heist frum a Yid, dos heist Yisrael. Das heißt, das ha'emes ha'emedes. The world, shloisha dvarim ha'olam omeid. The world stands on understanding this yesod, as the Ribono Shel Olam is the zan u'mefarnes, and He's the Baal Habos, and whatever you have, He gives you. And this, rabosai, is tzedakah. Now let's go back. Eretz Yisrael, a siyum b'mishpat tipadeh. Mishover b'tzedakah. The ultimate hakchoshe in the boirei olam, in emunah, could be rooted in a person who doesn't give tzedakah. And this is not my words. It's meforash in Rambam, which is based on a braisa in the Gemara. The Rambam continues in Halacha gimmel: Kol hama'aleh me'einav min ha'tzedakah, harei ze nikra bliya'al, kemo shenikra oved akum bliya'al. The Rambam, a beis ha... meiredik, a Rambam. It's a Gemara. You know who a koifer, a real koifer? Someone who's ma'alim ayin.

What is maalim ayin? The word maalim ayin. It overlooks tzedakah. It has to do with the way he sees, the way he views, the way he views an ani, the way he views tzedakah. Bli ayin, bli ayin. I'm a mefurasher Rambam, rabbeisai. Yeah. So everything could be rooted in this emunah, in this emunah that the Ribono Shel Olam... And I want to show you where I got this Rosh. I'm sorry, where I got this shmooze from. It's a mefurasher Rosh. Rabbeisai, you healthy? It's great. I know you're great, but it's great of Heaven. Heaven, rabbeisai. Nu? Nu, rabbeisai, bismucha to Heaven, a Rosh, where I got the whole shmooze from. I got the whole thing. This Rosh I was zoche to see as a bachur. And when I saw it, I knew one day I'm going to say shmoozin about this Rosh. Some teirutz, this is going to be... Im yirtzeh Hashem, a metziah gedolah ad me'od. Zogt the Rosh, you hear? In parshas Lech Lecha, the Ribono Shel Olam zogt Avraham Avinu that he's going to get Eretz Yisrael. He didn't have children, and still he's going to have children and have Eretz Yisrael. Vayachsheveha lo litzdakah. Avraham Avinu believed in the Ribono Shel Olam. The Ribono Shel Olam considered it tzedakah. He believed in the Ribono Shel Olam that he'll get Eretz Yisrael and he'll have children that will be yoresh Eretz Yisrael. Vayachsheveha lo... Tzedakah. Zogt der Rash, פירש, חשב הקדוש ברוך הוא לאברהם צדקה על האמונה שהם בוי. ומכאן הוכחה. And from here we could prove, It doesn't only mean giving of tzedakah, אלא צדקה האמונה שלמה, שיאמינו ישראל בחלף תחי, שבטחנו על ידי הנביאים. The belief, yeah, that's also called tzedakah. ושבב בצדקה means that we have to have emunah in all the havtachos that the Eibishter promises us. It's also ושבב בצדקה. Rabosai, says the Rosh, ושבב בצדקה. We sit Tisha B'Av, and we talk about all the tragedy, daf min gleiben, daf hoben emunah in all the havtachos that it's going to be good, in all the havtachos in the geulah. And dos is emunah, and dos is tzedakah, v'zeh kosher b'einei Hashem. This is what the Eibishter wants. It's kosher. ויָבִיא ברחמיו עלינו מהרה מה שהבטיחנו. This is how we bring about berachamim, berachamov, you hear? Let me end with the following. The pasuk says, Uverachamim gedolim akabtzech. What is the greatest expression of tzedakah when you help an ani? What's the point of helping an ani? The Rambam also says it's an inyan of rachamim. It's an inyan of rachamim. Rambam says, Le'olam ein adam me'ani min hatzedakah v'ein davar ra. B'kitzur, kol hamerachem, merachamin alav, shene'emar, v'nasan lecha rachamim. The Ribono Shel Olam will give you rachamim. Virichamecha, virbecha. V'atem laShem Elokeichem, vimlo yerachem ha'ach al ha'ach, mi yerachem alav. The Ribono Shel Olam is merachem on those that are merachem. Tzedakah is rachamim. The Ribono Shel Olam wants to see if we're merachem ach al ach. Wants to see it. Vnasan lecha rachamim verichamecha.

The Rabbeishim return will be merachem you. I wish I could continue. The clock doesn't let. Rabosai, emunah, emunah, emunah, emunah, emunah, emunah in the rachmei HaKadosh Baruch Hu. It's part of the emunah that the Ribono Shel Olam is merachem, that berachamim gedolim... Tremendous rachamim. What's rachamim? We have to show rachamim, and the Ribono Shel Olam in return, v'richamecha shows us rachamim. That's berachamim gedolim. If we can't give the big tzedakos, all right, have a rachmanus. Dos kemen, dos kemen ton. Yid muss zayn a rachman. That's kisei Yisrael. Kisei Yisrael. The Rambam says, Kisei Yisrael miskanein b'tzedakah. So mitake zeiche, zeiche, Rabosai. We have to work on it, to work on it. Rachmanus. Yidden are rachamim. That's what a Yid is. Mahu rachum, af atah rachum. Must takee be zoche, the Ribono Shel Olam should show us rachamim. If we show rachamim, midem vet mitake zeiche zayn to de aleh haftachos, aleh haftachos, that the Ribono Shel Olam's mavtiach us to bring the geulah shleimah.
